The care and attention was outstanding. The protective film they rolled out over my mother’s carpets was a really nice touch and it  actually cleaned the carpets when they pulled it up at the end! Really nice job, and they obliged us with facemasks and hand sanitiser for my mother’s sake. Thank you ever so much, hope you’re still going when I’m my mother’s age – I’ve already saved the phone  number!

Had been waiting for the council to help me for months. Gave up waiting and looked online. This was one of the first results on Google and I’m glad it was. Wasn’t an easy job, but they came up with a good solution and a few days later it was all done and dusted. Perfect job, quick and efficient, and they entertained an old man’s stories while they worked. 5 Stars

My Aunt doesn’t like to make a fuss, and I’m too far away to keep on top of any problems with her house. I called these people on the off chance they could help quickly with a blocked gutter and a dodgy garden rail. The next day someone called out to her, and two days later the gutter problem was solved and a new metal rail was on order. The rail is now in, she can use the garden steps again safely, and even though it was all done so quickly and professionally, it didn’t break the bank. I’m more comfortable now knowing I have a firm on hand to help out in future, and I’d tell anyone to at least get them to call round and give some advice – living so far away, it’s a real help. Thank you again

It was only a small job, but the council said it wasn’t something they covered and I was struggling to find anyone to help. The surveyor was very friendly and answered all my questions, of which there were very many! He put my mind at ease and within days the work was done. Since then I’ve reached out to HIA again for advice on turning my old bathroom into a new walk in shower with a seat and small rails for around the room, and I’m already looking forward to having them back to complete the work and give me a brand new bathroom! Can’t sing their praise enough. Thank you for everything.

I had left a Trustpilot review, but wanted to again thank HIA for helping my parents. We’d been waiting months for the council to help, and within days of calling, HIA came and talked through everything with me and my parents. A few days later, we had new hand rails by the front step, and little grab rails in the bathroom and toilet. Talked about bathroom conversions for wheelchair access, but decided that was for further down the line. Can’t thank them enough, makes a world of difference.

After my husband passed away, I wanted to make sure that the electrics in my house were safe.  The HIA arranged for them to be checked out and though nothing needed doing, I got them to increase the height of some of my sockets so that I don’t need to bend down anymore.  It only took a day and there was no mess at all.

My father-in-law walks around his garden every day, and I always get worried about him slipping over.  The handrails installed by Durham and Tees Vallery HIA have made this far safer.  It only took 1 week from the survey and was far cheaper than I imagined.  They look really good too.

My wife had a fall in the bathroom.  Durham and Tees Valley HIA took our bath out and installed a large shower in its place, with a very handy fold-down seat.  No more worries on bathing now.

I live many miles away from my elderly parents and was really pleased that I could have their home checked out.  Durham and Tees Vally HIA put my mind at rest by carrying out a full survey, which gave me an understanding of the safety of their electrics, gas, the suitability of their bathroom and shower, and most importantly for me, they gave us some invaluable advice on how to make the access to their front door safer for my father who is a little unsteady on his feet.
